Stix

I could barely pay attention to the conversation I'd struck up with Ammo, which was fine normally since the guy could carry a full conversation solo, but as always, my mind was elsewhere. Namely on Wyn as her and Ryder danced to the music playing over the speakers. I couldn't get their conversation out of my head. Why would Wyn go all the way to Cali just for some dick? The guy couldn't be that good, right? Especially not if she wasn't planning on claiming him.

"Yo Stix." Ammo slapped me on my arm, and I realized I zoned out more than I thought I did. "You good man? Where's your head at?"

I looked around and saw that it was just the two of us over on the side of the clubhouse. The bunnies Ammo had with him were gone now, and I was glad another one hadn't tried to push up on me. Wyn had made her message loud and clear. If I wanted any chance with her, having a groupie on me wouldn't help.

"Sorry man, guess I've just got a lot on my mind."

He laughed. "Yeah, more like one thing—Wyn. Dude, it's your party and you're not even enjoying the favors. You could take any of these chicks off to the side and have a sweet present, but you're busy with your eyes on the VP. What's up with that?"

"What do you know about her trip to Cali?" I asked instead.

He huffed and shook his head. "She had to clear out a few things with the Death Valley chapter. Open and shut case with Wyn."

"That have anything to do with the severed dick she brought back?"

"Whoever that dick came from is between her and Drifter. Now I can see that doesn't appease your curiosity, so what else do you have on your mind?"

"Appease? You using big words now, Ammo?"

"Fuck you bro," he laughed. "Now what do you really want to know?"

I debated with myself for a moment before thinking fuck it and just asking. Ammo's been in the club longer than me, so I was sure he knew some shit. "You know anything about a side piece Wyn has out there?"

Ammo's shoulders shook with suppressed laughter as he shook his head. "Shade."

"What's their deal?"

"Casual as far as I know. Why?"

"How long's it been going on?"

He scratched the back of his head as he thought about it. "Couple of years now, I guess. Again I ask, why?"

"Ryder said that Sum'r thinks there might be something more."

He shrugged. "Might be. Sum'r lives with Wyn, so she sees a lot more than the rest of us do. They could be more than casual, but she hasn't claimed him, so it's nothing official. Not by the club at least. Not that it would really work."

"Why not?"

"Because he lives on the other side of the fucking country." His tone had the duh implied. "Plus his old man runs the chapter, not like he can just make the switch."

"So this Shade guy is in the club?"

"Yup.
